Reading about your date nearly brought me to (happiness) tears! I’m so glad you were able to make that time for yourself, with yourself. And perhaps my innate reaction is a sign I desperately need one of those too! As always, thanks for baring it all in hopes that others will uncover their own happiness right under their noses! šŸ«¶šŸ»

Our culture makes us feel that we must always be accomplishing something, so if you can have some solitude and just relax in the moment, that is something to cultivate. I like meditation, or walking (I used to run, also swim laps) for solitude. I never quite got away from the restlessness or guilt of not accomplishing though, not until I was older. It is worth the effort , because it more aligned with the reality of life.

Love your reminder to do it without your phone. I went to the beach twice over the holiday and forgot my phone both times. Even though I wasn’t alone I did feel like I was unplugged and fully in nature and found it really healing. Going to do that more.
